RET inaugurated the Kayseri “My Life Community Center”, within the framework of the project “Multi-sectoral Approach for Fostering Resilience among non-Syrian Refugee and Vulnerable Host Communities, in Turkiye.” The project aiming at empowering women and fostering social cohesion in the Kayseri region is funded by the generous support of the UK Embassy in Ankara and implemented by RET in partnership with LEAP in Turkiye.
A “Sewing and Embroidery Atelier” was opened in the center targeting Iraqi, Afghan, Syrian, and local women of different ages living in Kayseri. The production of designed textile products has already started where professional skills training has been provided to strengthen the women’s skills. The women are working together to earn a sustainable income.
A second vocational atelier for” Food Production” will be inaugurated end of August. RET will provide the participants professional training on hygiene and sanitation, occupational health, safety and equipment use, and food preparation and hygiene.
