OUR PROJECTS

Since 2017, we have carried out many projects standing alongside women and young people, together with our national and international partners. Below you’ll find the projects we are still running in the field, as well as those we have completed.

Ongoing Projects

The projects we are actively implementing…

2026-2028

Turkish, English and Arabic Language Learning Programme as a Tool for Empowerment and Social Cohesion

A comprehensive language learning program offering Turkish, English, and Arabic language education to refugees and members of local communities across four provinces of Türkiye, with the aim of strengthening social cohesion and supporting individuals along the way.

2026

Community-Based Protection and Empowerment for Women and Youth

Through this project, we aim to build a lasting, community-based support network in Türkiye (Mardin and Kilis) and Syria (Aleppo), delivered through awareness-raising, education, and psychosocial support activities for women and young people.

Completed Projects

The work we’ve walked through and learned from together. Each one carries a story that is still unfolding.

2024-2026

Strengthening the Resilience and Social Cohesion of Syrian and Turkish Women in Mardin

Implemented in Mardin, the project strengthened the economic resilience and social cohesion of women from refugee and host communities through vocational training, cooperative-based production and solar-powered fruit and vegetable drying.

2024-2025

Mapping Skills and Employment Pathways in Central Anatolia

This project aimed to map the skills of disadvantaged groups living in Kayseri and Aksaray, and to bring them into formal, registered employment.

An Integrated Approach to Increase Resilience in Underserved Communities

Implemented in Çorum, Aksaray, Kayseri, and Samsun with the aim of strengthening the resilience of the most vulnerable communities — those with the least access to services.

2023-2024

Multi-Sectoral Approach for Fostering Resilience Among Refugee and Vulnerable Host Communities, Phase II

Following the earthquakes of February 6, 2023, we provided support to non-Syrian refugees (Afghan, Iraqi, Iranian) and vulnerable host communities in and around Kayseri and Aksaray, in the areas of protection, language, social cohesion, and vocational skills development.

2023-2024

Increasing Resilience of Refugees and Vulnerable Host Community Members and Fostering Peaceful Co-Existence in Çorum

A holistic program carried out through our community center in Çorum, bringing together social cohesion, non-formal education, and protection activities under one roof.

2023

Local Women’s Socio-Economic Empowerment and Social Skills Development for Social Cohesion and Youth Empowerment

Aimed to support women with limited opportunities in Şanlıurfa, Mardin, and Kilis in building the vocational skills that enable them to earn an income; and in Mardin, to encourage young people’s participation in musical and artistic activities.

2023-2025

Turkish and English Language Learning Programme as a Tool for Empowerment and Social Cohesion, Phase II

The project aimed to strengthen social cohesion by making communication easier between refugee and host communities in Samsun, Kilis, Şanlıurfa, and Mardin — through Turkish and English language education.

2021-2022

A Kitchen Story

In the two food production workshops we set up in the Savur and Artuklu districts of Mardin, we supported women and young people in the areas of branding, cooperative-building, and entrepreneurship.

In Şanlıurfa, we provided women with vocational training in a solar-powered fruit and vegetable drying system, and enriched the program with workshops on gender-based violence and social cohesion.

2021-2022

Local Women’ Socio-Economic Empowerment and Performing Arts Centre as a tool for Social Cohesion and Youth Empowerment

With this project, we aimed to develop the vocational skills of disadvantaged women living in Mardin, Kilis, and Şanlıurfa, and — through music and dance training in Mardin — to nurture social cohesion among children and young people.

2018-2020

Local Women’s Socio-Economic Empowerment in Mardin, Kilis and Çorum

We delivered vocational training in natural soap making, handcrafted dolls, woodblock printing, and natural dyeing to women in Mardin, Kilis, and Çorum — and stood alongside them as they built their own small enterprises.

2019-2021

Access to Services & Rights in Çorum & Samsun Through a Community-Based Approach Conducive to Reducing Vulnerabilities

Through the two community centers we established, safe spaces were created where vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals could reach expert psychologists, social workers, and a lawyer.

2019-2020

Strengthening the Resilience of Syrian Women and Girls and Host Communities in Türkiye

This project sought to reduce the disadvantages women face and to empower them, by addressing the underlying factors that give rise to those very challenges.

2020

Promotion of Economic Prospects for Refugees and The Host Community in Türkiye

Beyond helping our target groups develop their skills and access decent work, the project also expanded supply on the private sector side.

2018-2019

Empowering the Youth through Digital Literacy and Computer Training

In the computer labs we opened in Şanlıurfa and Mardin, we delivered Microsoft-based digital literacy training to young people in the region. This was the first major step in opening the door to the digital world, together.
