When a woman earns her own income, it’s not only her life that changes — a whole household transforms with her.
LEAP’s work on economic empowerment is built especially around women. Because in Türkiye, when a woman has her own income, her own time, and her own decisions, it ripples out — shaping her child’s future, her position in her neighborhood, and the wider fabric of society. We don’t define economic empowerment simply as “earning money”; we see it as equal access to resources, skills, and decision-making.
Our Approach
For us, a woman who walks away from a vocational workshop with a certificate in hand is only at the very start of the road. What comes next, we build together: how to get her products to market, how to price them, how to set up a small cooperative, how to introduce herself in the digital world. Along the way, we weave gender awareness and sexual and reproductive health workshops into this journey — because economic freedom cannot walk hand in hand with social insecurity.
