Within the Project “Turkish and English Language Learning Program as a Social Cohesion Tool” in Turkiye, RET, in partnership with LEAP, have been providing Turkish and English Language Courses targeting women, young people, and children from both host and refugee communities.
The project aims to promote #socialcohesion by establishing #communication between communities with the language learning program in collaboration with local public institutions and non-governmental organizations in Samsun, Ankara, Mardin, and Şanlıurfa.
The project also aims to strengthen young people’s English and Turkish language proficiency to increase their employability through LIELA’s fun, innovative teaching methods conducted in the centers, local institutions, and organizations’ centers.
One of the young people joining LEAP’s English Language Courses from a partner high school public institution in Samsun shared, “I enjoy learning English through playing games. New words in English are directly stuck in our minds, like in games. We can memorize easily. The teacher gives us a chance to act freely in class. I feel happy and successful, but mainly, I feel at ease in my space!”
A school manager stated that LEAP’s language training methods are inspiring and effective. She shared: “During the courses, the teacher’s proactive approaches and effective communication strengthen the bond between her and the students. It makes the students feel confident and simultaneously increases their acceptance of feedback. This is how they succeed. Thank you for your great efforts.“
