In the framework of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, RET, in partnership with LEAP Turkiye, organized multiple activities in its centers to raise awareness against Gender-based Violence amongst refugees and host communities.

In the Kayseri “My Life” Community Center, RET raised awareness against GBV, including prevention, response, and referral in cases of violence, and provided legal counselling on women’s rights, divorce or/and custodianship.
RET also provided training on Sexual and Reproductive Health #SRH, including HIV and Sexually transmitted diseases # STD.
In RET’s center in Kayseri, RET organized an awareness-raising activity in partnership with LEAP Turkiye tackling women’s rights, access to rights and services, and women empowerment. In the Turkish and English language classes, RET organized multiple activities within the framework of the 16 days campaign in partnership with LEAP Turkiye.


A training was provided in Şanlıurfa to raise awareness about violence against women amongst male and female beneficiaries, tackling the different types of gender-based violence, including Physical Violence, Verbal Violence, Psychological Violence, Sexual Violence, Socioeconomic Violence, Domestic Violence, Harassment, and Sexual Harassment, and mitigation practices.

The participants of the language classes from the host and the refugee communities in Mardin conducted an activity entitled “Say NO to Violence Against Women in multiple Languages.”


In Samsun, RET organized a drawing activity with its Turkish Language Class participants, to raise awareness against GBV. They made different drawings with the phrase “Say NO to Violence Against Women” in multiple languages.
The young participants of the English Language Class in Samsun crafted a visual board of successful and pioneer women throughout history to celebrate the potential any woman can reach.
The President of the “Women Entrepreneurs Board” of “The Mardin Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye” (TOBB), Ms. Deniz Hitay visited the “Food Production Atelier” to share with the women beneficiaries her successful entrepreneurship story. She also shared the difficulties and obstacles she faced as a woman and how she overcame them. The interview ended with a Q&A session.
