Within the framework of the project “Multi-sectoral Approach for Fostering Resilience among Non-Syrian Refugee and Vulnerable Host Communities” which aims at increasing the resilience of non-Syrian refugees and host communities in Kayseri, RET and LEAP are supporting women from both the refugee and host communities through awareness-raising sessions on social cohesion, gender-based violence, and sexual and reproductive health.

RET, in Kayseri, has been working towards advancing social cohesion by involving members of public institutions and civil society actors working with refugees. One thousand two hundred three participants from both host and refugee communities were reached through awareness-raising sessions on social cohesion. The sessions initiated a dialogue between the local people and refugees, increasing mutual understanding.
To improve beneficiaries’ understanding of gender-based violence (GBV) and raise awareness of sexual and reproductive health (SRH), RET has been conducting awareness-raising sessions for women from both the host and refugee communities. 1220 women were reached through SRH sessions, while 417 people were reached through GBV sessions.
