The project “Multi-sectoral Approach for Fostering Resilience among non-Syrian Refugee and Vulnerable Host Communities” in Turkiye aims at empowering women and fostering social cohesion in the Kayseri region and is funded by the generous support of the UK Embassy in Ankara (@UKinTurkiye) and implemented by RET in partnership with LEAP in Turkiye.
RET inaugurated two ateliers in the “Kayseri My life Community Centre”: the first one is the “Sewing and Embroidery Atelier,” and the second one is the “Food Production Atelier.” In the “Sewing and Embroidery Atelier,” the women project participants started to work and produce products at the atelier following the Technical and Vocational Training #TVT. Products such as cotton baby blankets, women’s shirts, and kimonos are now available online on Leap Natural’s Instagram and website: www.leapnatural.com

In the “Food Production Atelier,” RET provided technical and vocational training on food production, hygiene, sanitation, occupational health, safety and equipment use, etc. The participating women currently produce dumplings, including vegan dumplings. The products are being sold to the local and national markets in Turkiye under the Leap Natural brand.

Besides improving women’s technical skills in Kayseri, RET is also supporting women from the refugees and local communities in Kayseri with soft skills training such as marketing, entrepreneurship, Business Plan Development, Brand and Brand Awareness, Cooperatives, and Associations, pricing, Customer Relationship, and Inclusive Work Environment.
