LEAP NGO Türkiye, in partnership with RET, has been organizing gender-based violence #GBV training for women and men since 2015 in multiple areas, including Kilis, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Mardin, Çorum, Samsun, and Ankara. In partnership with Mardin’s Çabuk District Mukhtar, Ferhan ÇALHAN, LEAP provided gender-based violence training to 30 refugee Syrian male participants right after the fast-breaking meal of Ramadan.
Emel BABAOĞLU, LEAP’s Gender-based violence expert, conducted the training focusing on the impact of gender roles on women and men, as well as on girls and boys, discrimination, gender roles, gender equality, and GBV, and emphasized the importance of family communication concerning these topics.
