In celebration of World Environment Day, LEAP Türkiye, in collaboration with the Women and Democracy Foundation (KADEM), took a significant step towards raising awareness about environmental conservation and promoting a sustainable future.
As part of the “Increasing Resilience of Refugees and Vulnerable Host Community Members and Fostering Peaceful Co-Existence in Çorum” project, supported by the European Union Humanitarian Aid and the German Government, LEAP and KADEM organized a remarkable activity in Çorum. The event not only emphasised environmental initiatives but also the pressing issue of violence against women including the mechanisms for reporting and protection.
The teams embarked on a mission to plant diverse plants and seeds throughout the city, symbolizing the growth and resilience of a collective effort. This initiative aimed to engage the community and inspiring them to take decisive action in safeguarding and conserving the environment while promoting sustainable development.
By uniting the efforts of LEAP Türkiye and KADEM, the event successfully highlighted the vital connection between environmental conservation and social issues, specifically gender-based violence. The teams disseminated essential information to the public, stressing the importance of creating a safer environment for women and promoting cultivating a culture of equality and respect.
Together, we have the power to make a significant impact and pave the way for a greener and more harmonious world.
