We Work Together to Create a More Sustainable Future

As LEAP Turkiye, in partnership with RET International, we aim to raise awareness of the need to support the transformation to more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agrifood systems for better production, nutrition, environment, and life in our endeavours in Turkiye.

One of LEAP’s main objectives is to support local agricultural production, build farmers’ adaptive capacity to boost the local economy, and create employment and income-generating opportunities. All while raising awareness about climate change and promoting climate actions in partnership with Turkiye’s public and private sector institutions.

Within the framework of the “Multi-sectoral Approach for Fostering Resilience among Non-Syrian Refugee and Vulnerable Host Communities” project, in our food production atelier in Kayseri; and also in our existing ateliers in Mardin, and Şanlıurfa, we have been working with women from the host and refugee communities on clean, locally harvested and produced, natural, and environment-friendly food production. We work with local agricultural and agri-food producers to boost the local economy and increase the supply of local foods to the market. We are using a #GreenSupplyChain to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

In Mardin, within the framework of the “A Kitchen Story” project, we aim to increase food production and the consumers’ accessibility to healthy and natural foods by enhancing raw agricultural products into higher market-valued products with natural and environmental-friendly processes. We also provide low-cost organic fertilizers to farmers to stop using harmful chemical fertilizers with the collaboration of the private sector.

Our food production ateliers value traditional artisanship and clean production to increase consumers’ accessibility to healthy and natural food:

  • We use solar panels for vegetable and fruit drying in the atelier in Şanlıurfa.
  • We offer a variety of eco-friendly packaging solutions, such as glass jars, biodegradable raw craft papers, and boxes, to achieve sustainable, zero-waste, biodegradable, and environmental packaging.
  • Our food products don’t contain any chemicals or additives

It’s time to work together and create a better, more sustainable future.
