RET has been implementing the project “Local Women’s Socio-Economic Empowerment and Social Skills Development for Social Cohesion and Youth Empowerment” in Mardin to empower vulnerable youth (aged 12-25 years) from the refugee and host communities by providing awareness-raising sessions on social cohesion, communication skills workshops, and music courses.
In partnership with the Kızıltepe Public Education Center, RET organized a mini-concert in a high school in Mardin for the young participants of RET’s music courses, where they performed in front of hundreds of students. The trainer of RET’s courses communicated the importance of music in bringing people together and boosting young people’s artistic skills and self-confidence. “The courses and the organized concerts are bringing together young people from the host and refugee communities. Music is a great tool to increase social cohesion.”
